Job summary

Volkert Inc. is seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer to support our Southeast Region, located in any Florida office. A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and Florida PE licensure are required, with 5–10 years of drainage/water resources experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering (Master’s in water resources fields a plus).
• Florida PE licensure required (P.E.).
• 5–10 years of relative drainage/water resources and FDOT experience.
• Experience with MicroStation, Geopak, Civil3D, Storm CAD, ORD, ICPR, HEC-RAS, GIS and/or SUDA software.
• FDOT Drainage design experience and knowledge of FDOT standards and procedures.
• Experience with Florida DEP and Water Management Districts.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory MVR.

Responsibilities

• Collecting and analyzing data for inclusion in Project Plans and reports.
• Using computer engineering software to design stormwater management and storm drain systems, as well as soil erosion and sediment control systems.
• Analyzing and designing hydrologic and hydraulic models for Transportation Improvement projects.
• Permitting with different Regulatory and Water Management agencies.
• Assisting and preparing project plans using CADD software including MicroStation, OpenRoads, Civil3D, and/or AutoCADD.
• Collaborating across multiple disciplines, subconsultants, and other professionals to deliver quality projects within budget and schedule.
• Overseeing project design activities, supervising production efforts, and mentoring junior staff.
• Performing other professional, management, marketing and networking duties as assigned.
