Job summary

Forward Air Corp. is seeking a Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, stage, scan, and move freight in a multimodal terminal, warehouse, or dock setting. As a certified forklift operator, you will maintain accuracy and documentation integrity while mentoring developing staff.

Responsibilities include operating sit-down and reach trucks, assisting drivers, and ensuring adherence to OSHA and PPE standards. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 4pm–10pm, with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Basic arithmetic to verify freight counts, quantities, and weights.
• Willingness and ability to learn basic computer systems and handheld scanners.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using forklifts and MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors and designated areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight for accuracy and documentation.
