Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Distribution Engineer in the Allentown, PA area. You will work with electric utility design projects, coordinating with clients to deliver high-quality work while leveraging NESC and GIS tools.

The role blends field data collection with office design, supporting OH/UG/URD packages and complex cable/conduit projects. The position requires a PE license (PA), 4+ years of relevant experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of design engineering experience for electric distribution.
• ABET-accredited engineering degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial.
• Active PE license; PA licensure or ability to obtain.
• Experience with National Electric Safety Code (NESC).
• Travel to local/regional customer sites as needed; valid transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform design engineering for Leidos electric utility customers.
• Develop work packages for OH, UG, URD, and Make Ready using GIS/WMS tools (EFD, AUD, Smallworld, ArcGIS, Infor, EAM, STORMS, Maximo).
• Manage scope, schedule, and budget of assigned work.
• Perform planning and client follow-up tasks.
• Conduct scope analyses and maintain schedule adherence to client priorities.
• Drive continuous improvements to workflow for quality deliverables.
• Coordinate utilities and field design requirements in dense urban environments.
• Occasionally travel to local/regional customer sites for data collection.
