Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Associate Distribution Engineer to design and deliver electric distribution solutions for utility clients. You will work on design packages for overhead and underground systems, applying NESC standards and GIS tools, and providing on-site field support as needed.

The role spans design, analysis, and coordination with clients, with preference for candidates near Pittsburgh, PA but remote-capable.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial engineering.
0+ years of experience.
Experience with NESC standards.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Ability to travel and possess a valid U.S. driver’s license.
Willingness to perform both field and office work.

Responsibilities

Independently develop design and construction work packages for electric distribution systems.
Review client-provided work and assess scope requirements.
Perform structural analysis for wood pole loading and guying, sag/tension, voltage drop and flicker calculations.
Provide engineering support during construction and post-construction reviews.
Conduct root cause analysis of outages and mitigation using engineering principles.
Coordinate conflicting utilities and develop large design packages for complex projects.
