Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Director of Business Development to lead new business pursuits and renewal efforts. You will orchestrate the full sales cycle, drive pricing strategy, and present value propositions to secure contracts.

The role requires a strong track record in selling supply chain solutions, meeting quotas, and coordinating cross-functional pursuit teams. Expect 40–50% travel and a focus on the Automotive, Aeronautical and Industrial verticals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required business administration, finance, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred business administration (MBA).
• Five (5) years or more sales experience: 3 years at quota and 2 years at 75% of quota required.
• Five (5) years or more in selling supply chain solutions and/or achieve quota attainment more than 3 times within a 60-month period required.
• Understanding of services, costs, pricing and value. expert required.
• Noncommercial Driver License CLASS E

Responsibilities

• Lead deal pursuit: create deal and pricing strategy; proposal plan of attack; prospect new brands and develop industry network to build pipeline; explore cross-sell opportunities; negotiate contracts and close deals.
• Continued commercial support on accounts closed DBD; explore cross-selling opportunities for existing clients.
• Further education on vertical for consultative selling.
• Focus on one vertical/business unit and transition new accounts as directed; transition new business to Director of Key Accounts after 24 months.
