Job summary

MasTec Renewables is seeking a Director of Project Controls (Solar) to lead the project controls function across renewables projects. You will manage earned value, scheduling, cost control, forecasting, and the team behind these activities to drive safe, on-time, and on-budget outcomes.

The role requires extensive experience in project controls, strong leadership, and the ability to influence across the organization. Travel up to 30% is expected, with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering or related major.
• PMP, PSP, or PSP PMI-SP certification preferred.
• 15+ years in project management and/or project controls.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience.
• Renewable energy construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and directly manage the project controls team across operating groups, including earned value, budget/cost controls, scheduling, forecasting and reporting.
• Oversee schedule baseline, progress schedules, forecasts, and project reporting to management.
• Ensure data-driven decisions by providing accurate, timely reports and insights.
• Validate cost and schedule performance against baselines; assess changes and develop recovery plans.
• Develop and improve project controls processes, SOPs, and reporting systems.
• Recruit, develop, and retain top project controls talent; foster growth and collaboration.
• Promote safety, quality, and continuous improvement across the organization.
