Job summary

MasTec Renewables is seeking a Director of Project Controls (Solar) to lead the project controls department across multiple solar and renewable projects. The role oversees earned value, scheduling, cost control, forecasting and claims analysis, guiding a team of professionals and partnering with operations to improve project performance.

The role requires 15+ years in project controls with 5+ years in leadership, preferably in renewables, and certifications such as PMP/PSP are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering or related major.
• 15+ years of experience in project management and/or project controls.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience.
• Renewable energy construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project controls team across operating groups, including cost, scheduling, forecasting and reporting functions.
• Supervise project schedules: baseline, progress, forecasts, and reporting.
• Provide data-driven guidance to ensure timely and accurate project costs, productivity, and forecasts.
• Develop and validate project estimates with estimating and operations teams.
• Support training, auditing, and continuous improvement of project controls processes.
