Job summary

Upscale, Inc. is building the world-class SerDes digital design organization to enable ultra-high-speed AI data center connectivity. You will lead digital architecture, calibration, training, and production-ready SerDes solutions for 100G+ per-lane PHYs.

You will work with cross-functional teams to define architecture, drive verification, and recruit and mentor a high-performing engineering team. This is a leadership role shaping future SerDes generations.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in digital IC design with leadership responsibilities.
• Proven experience delivering digital functionality for 100G+ per-lane SerDes PHYs.
• Strong understanding of high-speed SerDes architecture and DSP interactions.
• Experience leading RTL development, digital implementation, and silicon delivery.
• Knowledge of digital design methodologies including timing closure and clock-domain crossing.
• Experience driving digital verification and system integration for complex products.
• Proven ability to recruit and retain engineering talent.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the digital architecture for next-generation SerDes PHYs, aligning DSP, calibration, initialization, adaptation, and control functions with overall system performance requirements.
• Lead DSP and signal processing for high-speed link performance and datapath processing.
• Drive digital calibration and compensation for analog circuits, including calibration sequencing and control.
• Own digital initialization, configuration, training, adaptation, and control sequences for robust high-speed links.
• Establish rigorous design and verification practices for functional correctness and robust silicon bring-up.
• Partner with analog, receiver, transmitter, clocking, system architecture, firmware, and silicon validation teams.
• Lead digital support for silicon bring-up, characterization, calibration, and production readiness.
• Build and mentor a high-performing SerDes digital engineering team and leadership culture.
• Establish the digital technology roadmap for future SerDes generations.
