Job summary

Munich Re Specialty - North America is seeking a Head of Professional Liability Claims to lead a multidisciplinary claims team within Commercial lines, directing Financial & Professional Lines and Healthcare claims. This role sits on the MRSNA Leadership Team and reports to the Chief Claims Officer.

Candidates should have 10+ years of claims and/or legal experience and 3+ years of management, plus exceptional leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of claims and/or relevant legal experience.
• 3+ years in management with proven leadership.
• Experience handling public entity multi-line E&O, malpractice, D&O, EPLI, cyber, fiduciary, crime.
• Superior coverage analytic ability.
• Strong team-building and inspirational leadership.
• Excellent and diplomatic communicator.
• Broad insurance business understanding.
• Customer-service orientation and adaptability.
• Innovative and curious with a growth mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive claim-handling direction across investigation, reserving, expense management, and settlement.
• Oversee strategy on high exposure, litigated and complex claims with escalation as needed.
• Support team development and career growth.
• Communicate key claim issues to leadership and stakeholders.
• Identify initiatives for continuous improvement.
• Develop strong relationships with internal and external partners.
