Munich Re Specialty - North America is seeking a Head of Professional Liability Claims to lead a multi-disciplinary claims team in the Commercial space, directing investigations, reserving, and settlements.

The role sits on the MRSNA Leadership Team and reports to the Chief Claims Officer, with locations across major US markets. A strategic leader with deep liability expertise will thrive in this dynamic, inclusion-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Ten years or more of claims and/or relevant legal experience.
• Three years or more of management experience with a proven leadership track record.
• Experience handling public entity multi-line E&O, malpractice, D&O, EPLI, cyber, fiduciary, crime, and transactional liability.
• Superior coverage analytic ability.
• Strong team-building ability.
• Inspirational and motivating leader with excellent communication.
• Expansive insurance business understanding and adaptability.
• Customer-service orientation and relationship focus.
• Innovative, curious, and committed to continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive claim-handling direction on investigation, reserving, and settlement following best practices.
• Oversee strategy for high-exposure, litigated, coverage, and complex claims and coordinate with leadership.
• Support team development and career progression.
• Communicate key claim issues and feedback to Claims leadership and stakeholders.
• Identify operational initiatives and drive continual improvement.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to strengthen the business and promote inclusion.
• Foster maximum employee engagement through team feedback.
