Job summary

Munich Re Specialty - North America is seeking a Head of Professional Liability Claims to lead a multi-disciplinary claims team in the Commercial space, overseeing Financial & Professional Lines, Healthcare, and related programs. This role partners with Underwriting and Leadership to drive best practices and provide guidance on high-exposure claims.

The position sits on the MRS-NA Leadership Team and reports to the Chief Claims Officer.

Qualifications

• 10 years or more of claims and/or relevant legal experience.
• 3 years or more of management experience with strong leadership.
• Experience handling multi-line E&O, malpractice, D&O, EPLI, cyber, fiduciary, crime, and transactional liability.

Responsibilities

• Manage and provide proactive claim-handling direction to team members with respect to investigation, assessment, reserving, expense/vendor management, and settlement in accordance with Claims Best Practices.
• Monitor and oversee strategy on high exposure, litigated, coverage, and complex claims to ensure optimal claim outcome and timely escalation involvement of Practice Lead, Head of Claims and other MRS-NA key stakeholders.
• Help team continually achieve professional goals and hone skills to meet team members’ development and career objectives.
• Communicate and present key claim issues, identify helpful initiatives and provide feedback to Claims leadership and other MRS-NA stakeholders.
