Munich Re Specialty - North America is seeking a seasoned Head of Professional Liability Claims to lead a multi-disciplinary Claims team within our Commercial space, guiding complex and high-exposure matters, defining strategic direction, and partnering with Underwriting, Actuarial and Operations to deliver best-in-class service.

Qualifications

• 10 years or more of claims and/or relevant legal experience
• 3 years or more of management experience with strong record of demonstrated leadership
• Experience handling public entity multi-line E&O, malpractice, D&O, EPLI, cyber, fiduciary, crime, and transactional liability
• Superior coverage analytic ability
• Strong team-building ability
• Inspirational and motivating leader
• Excellent and diplomatic communicator
• Expansive insurance business understanding

Responsabilités

• Provide proactive claim-handling direction for investigations, reserving, and settlements following Claims Best Practices.
• Oversee strategy on high exposure, litigated, coverage, and complex claims; escalate when needed.
• Foster team development and career growth within the Claims organization.
• Communicate key claim issues and feedback to Claims leadership and stakeholders (Underwriting, Actuarial, Operations).
• Identify and implement technical and operational initiatives in collaboration with leadership.
• Develop strong internal/external partnerships via market meetings, thought leadership, and service excellence.
• Promote a culture of positivity and inclusion across the Complex Claims team.
