Job summary

Munich Re Specialty - North America is seeking a Senior Claims Specialist to lead complex casualty and specialty claims across in-house and third-party administrators. You will analyze coverage, manage investigations, evaluate claims, and engage with counsel, vendors, and clients to drive optimal outcomes.

The role requires a law degree or equivalent legal experience, a bachelor’s degree, and 10+ years in high-exposure claims.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Law degree preferred.
• 10+ years handling high-exposure casualty or specialty claims or relevant legal experience.
• Strong organization and time management in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid adjuster license(s) in assigned states or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Direct all aspects of in-house and third-party administered claims.
• Collaborate with counsel, experts, vendors, and colleagues for optimal outcomes.
• Analyze coverage, manage investigations, and evaluate overall claims.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders promptly.
• Pursue recoveries and risk transfer where warranted.
• Set reserves reflecting exposure and changes over the life of the claim.
• Coordinate with outside counsel and vendors to obtain outcomes.
• Present high-exposure claims to leadership and stakeholders.
• Support client meetings, product development, and audits.
