Job summary

University of Florida is seeking a Senior Director of Development or Director of Development to lead major gift fundraising for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The role focuses on identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gifts of $100,000 and above, with oversight of strategy, planning, and staff leadership.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Advancement, the incumbent will develop plans and policies for the college’s development program, aligning with UF Advancement

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in appropriate area of specialization and three years of appropriate experience in Development or a related field; or a bachelor’s degree in appropriate areas of specialization and five years of experience in Development or a related field.
• Senior Director: Master’s degree in appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience or a bachelor’s degree in appropriate areas of specialization and eight years of experience.
• Valid driver license

Responsibilities

• Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gifts of $100,000 and above from individual and corporate prospects.
• Build and manage a portfolio of fundraising prospects and lead face‑to‑face solicitations to close gifts.
• Develop and execute strategic plans for major gift prospects and align with CLAS priorities.
• Engage deans, directors, faculty, and development officers to identify needs and priorities.
• Provide leadership to CLAS development officers and establish fundraising goals and metrics.
