Job summary

Florida State University, through the Division of University Advancement, seeks a Director of Development to lead major gift fundraising for the College of Medicine. Qualifications

• Master's degree plus four years of experience in advancement
• Bachelor's degree plus six years of related experience
• Higher education can substitute for experience at a comparable rate
• A valid Florida Driver's License or the ability to obtain upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Strategically execute a personal solicitation program resulting in philanthropic support at the $100,000+ level for College of Medicine
• Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward prospects with giving capacity of $500,000+
• Develop, coordinate and execute an annual major gift plan to meet monetary goals
• Travel frequently to secure gifts and pledges from alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends of FSU
• Communicate FSU’s mission and represent its culture to external stakeholders
• Coordinate with Division of University Advancement colleagues on planned giving, corporate and foundation giving
