FNBO is seeking a Sr. Director, Advanced Data Scientist to lead the partnership division's data science and credit-risk modeling roadmap.

You will shape strategy, oversee development of custom models for credit decisioning and portfolio management, and translate complex analytics into executive insights. The role requires deep quantitative expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to drive cross-functional alignment across business, risk, and technology teams.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in a quantitative field; PhD strongly preferred.
• 7+ years building statistical or ML models in financial services.
• Proficient in Python and/or R; strong SQL skills.
• Experience with gradient boosting, neural networks, and ensemble methods.
• Experience with model explainability techniques like SHAP.
• Full model-development lifecycle from design to monitoring.

Responsabilités

• Define multi-year modeling roadmap for credit-risk acquisition and portfolio management.
• Lead discussions with senior stakeholders to align methodology and risk considerations.
• Independently design and develop ML models for credit card acquisition and underwriting.
• Apply advanced ML to large customer/credit datasets; evaluate algorithms.
• Establish training/validation/out-of-time testing strategies.
• Partner with model validation and risk management teams.
• Develop model performance and monitoring frameworks.
