Job summary

Towson University in Towson, MD, seeks an Associate Director of Housing Facilities to oversee maintenance, repair, and renovation for 4,800 residents in 15 buildings. This role reports to the AVP of Housing & Residence Life.

Reporting to the AVP, the role requires three years in university housing operations, a valid driver’s license, and strong analytical/interpersonal skills; StarRez, PeopleSoft, and Stratus are preferred; budgeting and supervision are valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of full-time experience in housing operations and residential facilities management at a university.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a vehicle in Maryland.
• Ability to analyze and solve challenging interpersonal and/or technical issues daily.
• Ability to judge when quick decisions are necessary and when further evaluation is warranted.
• Proficiency in StarRez, PeopleSoft, and Stratus is preferred.
• Experience supervising professional staff and budgeting/planning.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and oversight of the Housing Facilities Manager.
• Coordinate residence hall system condition evaluations for renewal and capital planning.
• Develop specifications for FF&E purchases and manage contracts.
• Collaborate with campus departments on projects and safety programs.
• Respond to facility emergencies and ensure routine maintenance plans.
