Job summary

Lambda is seeking a Senior Director of Network Engineering to lead multiple teams responsible for the world’s AI cloud networks, ensuring security, performance, and cost efficiency across global data centers and backbone. You will partner with product and security leaders to align roadmaps with business goals and manage OpEx/CapEx budgets.

You will report to the VP of Cloud and AI Networking and build an automation-first culture with IaC, telemetry, and mature incident response.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing and operating highly available, large-scale networks for cloud infrastructure or enterprise network architecture.
• 2+ years managing managers in network teams.
• Experience leading network engineering organizations delivering mission-critical cloud connectivity at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of Lambda's global network — GPU fabrics, data center fabrics, backbone, and internet edge, including security, performance, and availability.
• Build multi-year roadmaps for network architecture, data center fabrics, and cloud connectivity.
• Set strategy for internet presence: peering, transit, IX footprint, and backbone traffic engineering.
• Partner with security, product, and executive leaders to align network roadmap with business goals.
• Own network readiness for AI data center builds including site turn-up and validation.
