Job summary

Lambda seeks a Senior Staff Network Engineer to own the architecture of major network areas and drive end-to-end design, build, and production validation. You’ll lead large projects across teams and set the standard for network design reviews and scalability.

You will collaborate with hardware, platform and product teams to resolve cross-team questions, automate critical domains, and mentor engineers while delivering high-availability, low-latency networks for global workloads.

Qualifications

• Own the technical direction of a significant area of Lambda's production network.
• Lead large production-scale networking projects across multiple teams.
• Deep expertise in data center, backbone and internet protocols and technology.
• Experience building networks for low latency, fast convergence and high availability.
• Comfort with cloud provider networking (AWS, GCP, OCI).

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of major areas of Lambda's network end to end — you design, build and validate in production.
• Lead large networking projects from design through turn-up and delivery.
• Write designs, RFCs and reviews others build from, and set design-review standards.
• Act as the deep technical escalation point for the hardest production problems.
• Drive automation to replace manual operations with scalable software.
