Job summary

Lambda is seeking a seasoned networking leader to own the multi-year networking software strategy and guide enterprise customer projects. This role reports to the VP of Cloud and AI Networking and collaborates with engineers across hardware, software, and network disciplines.

You will shape design, drive high- and low-level specifications, mentor engineers, and participate in day-2 operations and on-call rotation, ensuring reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient outcomes for our customers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in cloud computing, systems engineering, and large-scale network infrastructure.
• Experience building distributed network systems and services at scale; SDN.
• Led through implementation and launch of large production-scale software services projects.
• Decompose complex problems into simple, straightforward solutions.
• Understand system inter-dependencies and limitations.
• Expert knowledge in performance, scalability and enterprise architecture.
• Experience with cloud providers networking (AWS, GCP, OCI).
• Excellent communicator with high quality written artifacts to inform decision making.

Responsibilities

• Own the multi-year technical strategy for Lambda's networking software roadmap covering tools, software and services.
• Set the technical direction and standards other engineers design, build and operate against.
• Own high-level technical relationships with enterprise customers, guiding mission-critical projects.
• Influence across teams applying high quality technical judgment.
• Resolve technical ambiguity spanning network, hardware, platform and product teams.
• Go deep when the hardest problems demand it—hands-on with code and network.
• Drive the technical work end to end: vision to design to delivery.
• Mentor engineers and participate in hiring to raise the bar.
• Operate what you build and participate in day-2 operations and on-call rotation.
• Serve as the senior technical voice with our largest customers on critical projects.
• Identify opportunities to delight customers with improved availability or performance.
