Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Senior Director of Software Engineering - AI Development within Engineering Services & Platforms. The role leads multiple technical areas, guides a firm-wide AI-enabled engineering effort, and scales a dependency-risk platform across thousands of applications.

Senior leaders will architect, hire, and shape an AI-first culture while partnering with product, security, and risk teams to deliver reliable, compliant software infrastructure at enterprise scale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience and formal training
• 5+ years leading technologists and managers
• Strong AI-enabled engineering and governance experience

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the engineering team.
• Own the Dependency Explorer platform end-to-end, including hiring, structure, culture, and performance.
• Scale multi-team engineering efforts and partner with product managers and designers across regions.
• Drive the platform roadmap and core build-out: data ingestion pipelines, dependency graph modeling, surfaces, and firm-wide integration.
• Define architecture decisions for a large AWS-based Java stack and scale to thousands of applications.
• Foster an AI-first development culture with guardrails for security and resiliency.
