Job summary

JPMorganChase, within the Connected Commerce Technology group in New Jersey, seeks a Senior Director of Software Engineering to lead multiple technology domains, guide departments, and drive the adoption of AI-enabled engineering practices across the firm.

You will interface with senior leaders, shape SDLC governance, and mentor cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient software solutions that support our customers and business priorities.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering fundamentals and 10+ years applied experience.
• 5+ years leading technologists to manage and solve complex items in your domain.
• Experience leading large cross-functional teams of technologists.
• Experience guiding multi-organization adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering operating models.
• Deep understanding of responsible AI risk, controls, and resiliency expectations.
• Experience leading complex projects ensuring design, testing and operational stability.
• Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
• Extensive practical cloud native experience.

Responsibilities

• Leads multiple technology and process implementations across departments to achieve firmwide objectives.
• Directly manages multiple strategic areas with transactional focus.
• Sets and scales multi-department strategy for AI-enabled engineering and SDLC automation to drive speed, scalability, reliability, and cost-to-serve.
• Guides governance, measurement frameworks, and secure handling of sensitive inputs/outputs across teams.
• Provides leadership to teams across platforms and lines of business.
• Interfaces with senior leaders to drive consensus across objectives.
• Manages stakeholders and large cross-product collaborations.
• Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across product and tech teams.
