Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Senior Director of Software Engineering within Equity Derivatives Technology to lead multiple technical areas and departments, shaping the future of financial services through scalable, secure engineering practices.

You will drive adoption of AI-enabled engineering, governance, and high-impact SDLC automation across teams, coordinating with senior leaders to align strategy with firm-wide objectives and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts with 10+ years of applied experience.
• Experience leading large or cross-functional teams of technologists.
• Proven ability to influence across matrixed, complex organizations and deliver value at scale.
• Experience leading multi-organization adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering models, governance, and secure data handling.
• Deep understanding of responsible AI risk, controls, and resiliency at scale; ability to advise senior leaders on safe adoption and governance.
• Experience leading complex projects supporting system design, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
• Extensive practical cloud native experience.

Responsibilities

• Leads multiple technology and process implementations across departments to achieve firmwide technology objectives.
• Directly manages multiple areas with strategic transactional focus.
• Sets and scales multi-department strategy for agentic AI-enabled engineering and SDLC/TLM automation to drive firmwide objectives (speed, scalability, reliability, cost-to-serve).
• Applies knowledge of the SDLC toolchain to drive cross-domain reuse and measurable capacity unlock outcomes.
• Provides leadership and high-level direction to teams across platforms, divisions, and lines of business.
• Acts as primary interface with senior leaders, stakeholders, and executives to drive consensus.
• Manages multiple stakeholders, complex projects, and large cross-product collaborations.
• Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams.
