Job summary

EY is seeking a Manager in the Service Delivery Center to balance hands-on software engineering with project leadership. You will guide multidisciplinary teams through design, development, testing, deployment, and production support while staying close to code and technical decisions.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate distributed delivery, and collaborate with product owners, architects, DevOps, security, operations, and clients to translate requirements into achievable delivery plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of technology software development experience, including leading project teams or major delivery workstreams.
• Hands-on coding with Java and Spring Boot, including microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Angular or React and guiding full-stack engineering decisions.
• Experience deploying enterprise apps on a major cloud platform.
• Experience with source control, build automation, CI/CD pipelines, containers, testing, and code quality gates.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery practices.
• Experience leading distributed teams across geographies.
• Mentorship and coaching skills.
• Experience with asynchronous/event-driven architectures using Kafka and observability via Splunk.
• Working knowledge of Hadoop/Spark/Flink for batch or real-time processing.
• Ability to manage delivery risks, production issues, priorities, and client communications.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of software engineering work across planning, design, development, testing, release, and production support.
• Remain hands-on with coding, code reviews, troubleshooting, PoCs, and resolution of complex engineering issues.
• Guide solution design using Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, Angular or React, databases, and cloud-native patterns.
• Plan and manage Agile delivery, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, estimation, coordination, demonstrations, and release readiness.
• Coordinate work across teams located in different locations and time zones with clear ownership and handoffs.
• Mentor engineers through technical coaching, design reviews, code-quality feedback, and career development conversations.
• Partner with product owners, architects, quality engineering, DevOps, security, operations, and client stakeholders to translate requirements into delivery plans.
• Monitor scope, schedule, quality, risks, issues, and delivery metrics; communicate progress and elevate impediments with actions.
• Promote secure development, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and operational readiness across lifecycle.
• Support event-driven and data-processing solutions using Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, Flink, or comparable tech when required.
