Job summary

EY is seeking a Manager in the Service Delivery Center to balance hands-on software engineering with project leadership. You will guide multidisciplinary teams through design, development, testing, deployment, and production support while staying close to code.

You will coordinate delivery across geographically distributed teams, mentor engineers, manage dependencies and risks, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders in a dynamic client environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• A minimum of 6 years of technology software development experience, including responsibility for leading project teams or major delivery workstreams.
• Hands-on coding with Java and Spring Boot, including development of microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with at least one modern UI framework, preferably Angular or React, and the ability to guide full-stack engineering decisions.
• Experience building, reviewing, testing, deploying, and supporting enterprise applications on a major cloud platform.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, container deployments, unit/integration testing, and code-quality gates.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum, sprint planning, backlog management, release planning, and delivery tracking.
• Experience leading distributed teams across multiple geographic locations and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Mentorship and coaching skills to improve engineering practices.
• Experience with asynchronous/event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka or equivalent messaging platforms.
• Experience with logging/monitoring/alerting using Splunk or similar observability tools.
• Knowledge of Hadoop/Spark/Flink for data-processing use cases.
• Ability to manage delivery risks, production issues, and client communications in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of software engineering work across planning, design, development, testing, release, and production support.
• Remain hands-on with coding, code reviews, troubleshooting, and technology decisions.
• Guide solution design using Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, and UI frameworks.
• Plan and manage Agile delivery: backlog refinement, sprint planning, estimation, reviews, and release readiness.
• Coordinate work across geographically distributed teams and ensure clear ownership and handoffs.
• Mentor engineers through coaching, reviews, and career development conversations.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, DevOps, QA, security, and stakeholders to translate requirements into delivery plans.
• Monitor scope, schedule, quality, risks, and delivery metrics, and communicate progress with actionable next steps.
