Job summary

RTX in Tucson invites an Electrical Subsystems Digital Principal Engineer to lead or support digital design efforts for guidance systems, focusing on FPGA-based architectures. This role emphasizes architecture, requirements, integration, and test within the AEGS department.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in digital design, system engineering, and CCA development, plus active DoD Secret clearance eligibility. Occasional travel and collaboration with customers and suppliers are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) required; 8+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• Experience in digital sub-systems, systems engineering, and circuit card design.
• Active and transferable U.S. government Secret clearance required; U.S. citizenship needed for clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support digital design efforts for development guidance systems with FPGA-centric designs.
• Support component-level design and test reviews.
• Engage in hands-on hardware testing and debugging of complex circuit card assemblies.
• Mentor and be mentored within a strong engineering culture.
• Collaborate with functional and program management and external customers/suppliers.
• May travel ~25% to support program needs and lifecycle activities.
