Eaton is seeking a Digital Controls and Embedded Software Engineer Specialist in Raleigh, NC for a hybrid role requiring on-site work 3 days per week. The position supports high-power UPS and energy storage products, with relocation assistance within the US and possible H1B sponsorship as needed.

You will develop real-time DSP algorithms, MATALB/Simulink simulations, and advanced control strategies across the product life cycle, collaborating with global teams and leveraging power electronics

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 8+ years of real-time digital controls experience
• MS in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of real-time digital controls experience
• PhD in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years of real-time digital controls experience

Responsibilities

• Launch critical power infrastructure products meeting requirements and schedule
• Provide guidance to project team members
• Collaborate with global product teams to address performance, safety and reliability
• Develop mathematical models and DSP control algorithms
• Create MATLAB/Simulink simulations to verify designs
• Develop and validate converter control algorithms across simulations and HIL tests
• Evaluate control architectures to select best solution
• Design controllers to achieve target performance
• Validate designs with real-time simulations such as OPAL-RT
• Lead new product development initiatives and interface with cross-functional teams
