Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking an experienced Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our diesel tractor fleet, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment requiring preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. This role emphasizes safety, documentation, and teamwork across maintenance tasks.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 5+ years in vehicle maintenance, and ASE Master certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in vehicle maintenance.
• A heavy-duty vehicle maintenance certificate may substitute for one year of experience.
• Master ASE certification may substitute for two additional years of experience.
• Competency in brakes, electrical, PMI, powertrain, and trailing equipment is required.
• Medium/Heavy Truck Master ASE and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must operate maintenance programs and diagnostic systems.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, modifies and performs preventive maintenance inspections on tractors, trailers, forklifts and other equipment.
• Performs advanced diagnostics to identify trouble sources and repairs or rebuilds components and systems.
• Makes adjustments for safe, efficient operation and documents work.
• Guides and mentors less-experienced technicians.
• Ensures accurate documentation of maintenance and completes reports.
