Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic / Technician to maintain and repair our diesel fleet, including tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment.

The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to keep the fleet running safely and efficiently. Starting pay is $37.26 per hour, with potential boosts for ASE Master certification, tool reimbursement, shift differential, and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years' experience performing vehicle maintenance.
• A heavy-duty vehicle maintenance certificate may substitute for one year experience.
• Master ASE certification may substitute for two years experience.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, modifies and performs preventive maintenance inspections; troubleshoots vehicle fleet including tractors, trailers, forklifts and other equipment
• Performs advanced diagnostics to identify source of trouble and performs repairs and/or replaces or rebuilds all components and systems
• Makes necessary adjustments to equipment for safe and efficient operation and prepares required safety documentation
• Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced technicians
• Ensures proper and accurate documentation of all maintenance performed, completes reports in writing and electronically
• Performs safety inspections of equipment and documents the work
