SYSCO FOODS is seeking a skilled Fleet Technician to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a range of commercial vehicles and refrigeration systems. The role includes inspections, safety-focused tasks, and collaboration with supervisors while maintaining strong adherence to DOT and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL preferred, not required.
• 2-year school and 4 years of experience OR 5 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair.
• Annual Inspector Certification Knowledge, Skills and Abilities.
• Brake Inspector Certification Knowledge, Skills and Abilities.
• ASE certifications & Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks.
• EPA section 608 (Core & Type II) and 609 HVAC & Refrigeration Certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment within planned time tolerances.
• Perform annual inspections on all fleet vehicles per legal and regulatory standards.
• Conduct quality preventive maintenance on tractors, trailers, and related equipment.
• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, drive-lines, braking, electrical, HVAC and related systems.
• Repair and maintain refrigeration units (Reefer).
• Address Driver Vehicle Inspection Report write-ups promptly.
• Mentor Fleet Technician I and II for career development.
• May perform moderate supervisory duties when managers are unavailable.
• Proficient in electrical meter testing and DC low-voltage controls.
