Job summary

Sysco Allentown is seeking a Diesel Fleet Mechanic Technician III to provide safe, reliable maintenance for our fleet. You will perform preventive maintenance, expert diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment to minimize downtime.

You will mentor junior technicians, document work orders, and may take on supervisory duties when needed. A strong background in electrical systems and refrigeration or HVAC is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL preferred, not required.
• Medium/Heavy Duty truck tech training with either 2-year school + 4 years experience or 5 years fleet maintenance experience.
• ASE certifications & automotive/medium/heavy-duty truck certifications.
• EPA 608/609 HVAC certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles within scheduled tolerances to maximize safety, reliability and cost efficiency.
• Perform annual inspections (FAI/CVI) on tractors, trailers, dollies, and other equipment per regulations.
• Diagnose and repair a wide range of systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, HVAC, and lifts.
• Document all work on proper work orders and ensure accuracy.
• Mentor Fleet Technician I and II to develop higher responsibility; may supervise when managers unavailable.
• Proficient in electrical meter testing and welding; perform electrical repairs as needed.
• Operate and troubleshoot diagnostic software and OEM component systems.
