Job summary

Sysco is seeking a Master Diesel Technician to ensure safe, reliable fleet vehicles through preventive maintenance and expert repairs. You will diagnose complex issues, perform FAI/CVI inspections, and maintain records to minimize downtime.

The role requires strong electrical, refrigeration, and welding skills and the ability to mentor junior technicians. Expect a full-time on-site position with competitive hourly pay, sign-on bonus, and boot/tool allowances.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL preferred, not required.
• 2-year school and 4 years of experience OR 5 years of experience in fleet maintenance.
• ASE certifications & Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks.
• EPA 608 (Core & Type II) and 609 HVAC & Refrigeration Certification.
• Annual Inspector Certification Knowledge, Skills and Abilities; Brake Inspector Certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles to maximize safety and reliability.
• Perform Annual (FAI/CVI) inspections on tractors, trailers, and related equipment.
• Diagnose and repair systems per manufacturer specifications (engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical, HVAC, etc.).
• Document work performed on work orders and communicate findings.
• Mentor Fleet Technician I/II and assist Fleet Manager when needed.
• Proficient in electrical meter testing and electrical systems.
