Job summary

Sysco Sacramento, Inc. is seeking a skilled Fleet Technician to perform preventive maintenance and expert diagnostics on the fleet to prevent breakdowns and improve reliability.

You will inspect, diagnose, and repair engines, transmissions, electrical, HVAC, and refrigeration systems, follow work orders, and mentor junior technicians. CDL is preferred but not required; ASE and EPA certifications are valued. High school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL preferred, not required.
• 2-year school and 4 years of experience OR 5 years of fleet maintenance and repair experience.
• ASE certifications, EPA 608/609 HVAC & Refrigeration, Brake Inspector knowledge.
• Expert knowledge of vehicle systems and diagnostics; DOT/FMCSA regulations knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles within time tolerances.
• Conduct annual inspections (FAI/CVI) on tractors, trailers, and equipment.
• Repair engines, transmissions, electrical, HVAC, and refrigeration systems to manufacturer specs.
• Document all work on work orders and mentor junior technicians.
• May perform moderate supervisory duties when needed and assist Fleet Manager.
