Job summary

Sysco Louisville is seeking a skilled Fleet Technician to maintain and repair a broad range of fleet vehicles and equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose complex faults, and ensure regulatory compliance to maximize uptime and reliability.

Responsibilities include inspections, refrigeration unit service, electrical system repairs, and mentoring junior technicians. A CDL is preferred but not required; shift is 3rd with differential and benefits available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current and valid driver's license (CDL preferred, not required).
• Medium/Heavy Duty truck training; 2-year school plus 4 years experience or 5 years fleet maintenance experience.
• ASE certifications and EPA 608/609 certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment within planned time tolerances to maximize safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Conduct Annual inspections (FAI/CVI) on tractors, trailers, and equipment in compliance with federal/state/local rules.
• Perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration units, lift-gates, and other equipment.
• Diagnose malfunctions and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, HVAC, and other major systems to manufacturer specs.
• Address Driver Vehicle Inspection Report write-ups promptly and accurately.
• Mentor Fleet Technician I/II to aid progression and may perform moderate supervisory duties when needed.
