Job summary

Sysco Knoxville is seeking an experienced Fleet Technician to perform preventive maintenance and expert repairs on a broad range of fleet vehicles and equipment. You will conduct required inspections, diagnose issues, and execute repairs to maximize safety and reliability on the road.

Role requires knowledge of engines, transmissions, electrical systems, refrigeration units, and DOT regulations, plus the ability to document work and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current and valid driver's license (CDL preferred, not required).
• Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Conduct annual inspections (FAI/CVI) per regulations for tractors, trailers, and related equipment.
• Diagnose failures and perform repairs on engines, transmissions, steering, brakes, HVAC, and electrical systems.
• Record work performed on work orders and mentor junior technicians.
• Possibly perform supervisory tasks when Fleet Manager is unavailable.
