Job summary

IDEXX is seeking a Senior Manager of DevOps to lead a team supporting veterinary and diagnostic software, cloud platforms, and customer-facing services. You’ll drive secure, scalable infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and platform engineering in a hybrid onsite/remote model.

You’ll partner across engineering and security to align roadmaps, improve reliability, and reduce costs, while mentoring engineers and guiding incident response and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of DevOps/infrastructure/platform engineering experience and leadership of technical teams.
• Experience managing DevOps engineers for commercial software products, SaaS platforms, or customer-facing environments.
• Strong hands-on with cloud platforms, especially AWS, plus IaC, CI/CD, observability, and container/serverless models.
• Experience embedding security/compliance and operational resilience into lifecycle management and pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with observability tools such as Datadog or CloudWatch for monitoring and performance.
• Proven track record scaling and developing a DevOps/platform team with hiring, coaching, and process maturation.
• Experience leading teams through incidents, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills translating strategy and risk to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree required; local driving distance to Westbrook, ME HQ with hybrid visitsNH/MA acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of DevOps engineers aligned to IDEXX product areas and roadmaps.
• Partner with product engineering to align DevOps support models with roadmaps and priorities.
• Drive infrastructure security practices and compliance with leadership.
• Advance automation and AI-enabled workflows to boost deployment speed and reliability.
• Evaluate and adopt tools that improve scalability, cost efficiency, and resilience.
• Oversee incident response, root-cause analysis, and operational readiness.
• Own vendor and cloud cost management for efficient resource use.
