Job summary

IDEXX is seeking a Senior Manager of DevOps to lead a team of engineers supporting veterinary software and diagnostic platforms, including customer-facing cloud services. You will drive secure, scalable cloud operations, infrastructure security, CI/CD, and platform engineering, collaborating with software, security, and IT leadership.

Location is Westbrook, Maine with a flexible hybrid model (on-site 8 days per month).

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, software operations, or platform engineering with leadership experience.
• Experience managing DevOps engineers for commercial software products, SaaS platforms, or customer-facing environments.
• Strong hands-on cloud experience (AWS), IaC, CI/CD, observability, and container/serverless models.
• Experience embedding security, compliance, and operational resilience into pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Datadog or CloudWatch for monitoring and performance.
• Proven ability to scale and develop a DevOps team and mature processes.
• Experience leading production incidents and root-cause analyses.
• Excellent communication to translate technical needs for stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a DevOps team aligned to IDEXX’s software product areas and drive execution.
• Partner with product engineering to align DevOps support with roadmaps and priorities.
• Advance infrastructure security practices and cost-efficient cloud usage.
• Improve automation and AI-enabled workflows to speed deployments and productivity.
• Evaluate tools and platform improvements for scalability and resilience.
• Manage incident response and root-cause analyses across platforms.
• Oversee vendor and cloud cost management to ensure secure use of resources.
