Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Sr. Manager, Software Engineering - DevOps, Observability & Monitoring to lead platform engineering initiatives. You will drive the vision and execution of cloud-native platforms for scalable, secure app development and reliable operations across services.

You will build and guide a high-performing team of software engineers and SRE/DevOps engineers, shaping incident response, observability standards, and CI/CD practices to improve MTTR and system availability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, SRE, or production engineering within large-scale distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with AIOps or intelligent monitoring platforms.
• Experience with observability tools such as AppDynamics, Grafana, Prometheus, and Splunk.
• Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), cloud-native architectures, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Deployment Manager).
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, Go).
• Proven track record of improving operational metrics (SLA, CSAT, MTTR).
• Experience with GenAI and automation tools (OpenAI, Copilot, Gemini, Claude, MCP).
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and fault tolerance.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor software engineers and SRE/DevOps teams.
• Drive AIOps adoption for predictive monitoring and automated root cause analysis.
• Architect and implement scalable observability across metrics, logs, traces, and events.
• Champion CI/CD, IaC, and GitOps across teams.
• Improve reliability through incident management and postmortems.
• Oversee cloud and infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or GCP; containerization and orchestration with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Integrate security into DevSecOps practices and ensure regulatory compliance.
