Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Manager of Software Engineering - DevOps, Observability & Monitoring to lead strategic cloud-native platform engineering initiatives. You will shape the vision, mentor a high-performing team, and drive scalable, secure application development with a focus on reliability and observability.

Responsibilities include leading CI/CD, IaC, and GitOps practices; implementing SLIs/SLOs, incident response, and continuous improvement across distributed systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, SRE, or production engineering within large-scale distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with AIOps or intelligent monitoring platforms.
• Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, and Splunk.
• Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), cloud-native architectures, and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers and SRE/DevOps engineers.
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Define team goals, OKRs, and performance metrics aligned with strategy.
• Partner with product, architecture, and business stakeholders to deliver platform capabilities.
• Drive adoption of AIOps solutions for predictive monitoring and automated root cause analysis.
• Architect and implement scalable observability frameworks across metrics, logs, traces, and events.
