Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Sr. Manager, Software Engineering - DevOps, Observability & Monitoring to lead platform engineering initiatives for scalable, reliable cloud-native applications.

You will build and mentor a high-performing team, partner with product and architecture, and drive operational excellence through AIOps and modern observability practices. The role requires hands-on expertise in cloud architectures, CI/CD, IaC, and distributed systems, with a focus on improving MTTR and system

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering, SRE, or production engineering in large-scale systems.
• Hands-on with AIOps or intelligent monitoring platforms.
• Experience with observability tools: Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk.
• Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Kubernetes, containers, microservices.
• IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, Deployment Manager).
• Programming in Python, Java, or Go.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow software, SRE/DevOps engineers; drive accountability and improvement.
• Partner with product, architecture, and stakeholders to deliver platform capabilities.
• Drive AIOps adoption: predictive monitoring, anomaly detection, automated root cause analysis.
• Define enterprise observability standards, instrumentation, telemetry, and distributed tracing.
• Advance CI/CD, IaC, and GitOps; standardize workflows; boost developer productivity.
• Improve reliability via incident management, postmortems, and MTTR reduction.
