Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Sr. Manager of Software Engineering - DevOps, Observability & Monitoring to lead a high-performing team focused on cloud-native platform engineering. You will shape the strategy and drive execution for scalable, reliable, and secure application development.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership with expertise in cloud architectures, DevOps, and observability, while delivering operational excellence and transformation across the Digital organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering, SRE, or production engineering in large-scale systems.
• Hands-on with AIOps or intelligent monitoring, including anomaly detection and event correlation.
• Experience with observability tools (AppDynamics, Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk).
• Strong cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native architectures (Kubernetes, containers, microservices).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Deployment Manager).
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go.
• Track record of improving operational metrics (SLAs, CSAT, MTTR).
• Experience with GenAI and automation tools (OpenAI, Copilot, Gemini, Claude, MCP).
• Understanding of distributed systems, resiliency, fault tolerance, and performance measurement.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers and SRE/DevOps staff.
• Drive adoption of AIOps for proactive monitoring and automatic root-cause analysis.
• Architect and implement scalable observability across metrics, logs, traces, and events.
• Advance CI/CD, IaC, and GitOps practices across platforms.
• Improve system reliability through error budgets, chaos engineering, and postmortems.
• Oversee cloud infrastructure across AWS/Azure/GCP and container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Embed security into pipelines with DevSecOps and regulatory compliance.
