Job summary

CVS Health seeks a Sr. Manager, Software Engineering - DevOps, Observability & Monitoring to lead platform engineering that enables scalable, reliable applications.

You will build and guide a cloud-native, secure platform and drive modernization through automation and data-driven decisions. The ideal candidate brings hands-on cloud experience, strong leadership, and a proven ability to improve operational metrics while aligning with product and business goals.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering, SRE, or production engineering in large-scale distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with AIOps or intelligent monitoring platforms and anomaly detection.
• Experience with observability tools (AppDynamics, Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk).
• Strong cloud expertise (AWS/Azure/GCP), Kubernetes, microservices, and CI/CD pipelines.
• IaC experience (Terraform, CloudFormation, Deployment Manager).
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go; track record of improving reliability metrics.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of software engineers and SRE/DevOps engineers.
• Drive AIOps adoption for predictive monitoring and automated root cause analysis.
• Architect scalable observability across metrics, logs, traces, and events.
• Advise on CI/CD, IaC, GitOps, and secure platform design.
• Improve reliability via error budgets, incident response, and postmortems.
• Lead cloud infrastructure across AWS/Azure/GCP and containerization with Docker/Kubernetes.
