Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Sr. Manager, Software Engineering - DevOps, Observability & Monitoring to lead the platform engineering vision and build scalable cloud-native solutions.

You will lead a high-performing team responsible for delivering reliable, secure applications and modern platform capabilities across the CVS Caremark Digital team. The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical leadership with deep experience in cloud architectures, CI/CD, IaC, and observability tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, SRE, or production engineering within large‑scale distributed systems.
• Hands‑on experience with AIOps or intelligent monitoring platforms.
• Experience with observability tools such as AppDynamics, Grafana, Prometheus, and Splunk.
• Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), cloud‑native architectures (Kubernetes, containers, microservices), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or GCP Deployment Manager).
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go).
• Proven track record of improving operational metrics (SLAs, CSAT, resolution time).
• Experience with GenAI and automation tools such as OpenAI, Copilot, Gemini, Claude, and MCP.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers and SRE/DevOps engineers.
• Drive the adoption of AIOps solutions for predictive monitoring and automated root cause analysis.
• Architect scalable observability frameworks across metrics, logs, traces, and events.
• Drive CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and GitOps practices across teams.
• Improve system reliability via error budgets, postmortems, and incident management.
• Architect and manage cloud solutions (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Integrate DevSecOps practices and ensure security/compliance across pipelines.
