Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Sr. Manager, Software Engineering - DevOps, Observability & Monitoring to lead strategic platform initiatives for the CVS Caremark Digital team. You will build and guide a high‑performing engineering organization across cloud platforms, observability, and release automation.

The role emphasizes hands‑on leadership, scalable cloud architecture, SRE governance, and proactive incident management, with focus on reliability, security, and cost optimization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering, SRE, or production engineering in large‑scale distributed systems.
• Hands‑on with AIOps or intelligent monitoring platforms and anomaly detection.
• Experience with observability tools (AppDynamics, Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk).
• Cloud expertise across AWS, Azure, or GCP; Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
• IaC experience (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Deployment Manager) and coding (Python/Java/Go).
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives.
• Experience with GenAI automation tools and OpenAI/Copilot/Gemini is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers and SRE/DevOps engineers.
• Drive AIOps adoption for predictive monitoring and automated root‑cause analysis.
• Architect scalable observability across metrics, logs, traces, and events.
• Guide CI/CD, IaC, and GitOps practices; improve release automation.
• Oversee reliability initiatives, incident response, and postmortems.
• Set SLIs/SLOs and governance for enterprise reliability; optimize costs.
