Job summary

Floor & Decor is seeking an experienced Senior Developer to join our Corporate Systems/Merchandising IT team. You will build, enhance, and support applications for Store associates and SSC users, using AI-assisted tools to speed prototyping into production-grade code.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, applying Java/Spring Boot, microservices, and modern databases to deliver scalable solutions with a focus on security, testing, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with 5+ years of full-cycle software development experience.
• Advanced backend Java/Spring Boot with Java 17/21 features (virtual threads, records, sealed classes, pattern matching) to build scalable services.
• Database expertise with PostgreSQL (preferred), SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL including tuning and indexing.
• Strong grounding in microservices architecture and distributed systems design.
• Proficiency in REST APIs, SFTP, and pub-sub messaging (queues/topics).
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to accelerate SDLC with security and testing.
• Agile experience with Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket.

Responsibilities

• Own full lifecycle delivery - requirements, design, development, unit testing, QA, and deployment.
• Use AI-assisted development to accelerate prototype-to-production while enforcing testing, security, and scalability.
• Resolve user-reported issues in ServiceNow within SLA.
• Identify and document upgrade risks and recommendations.
• Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Contribute to technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and dev standards.
