Floor & Decor Sr. Designer leads our design team and provides a seamless start-to-finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with customers.

Responsibilities include meeting with customers, educating them on project requirements, and creating a design concept reflecting their style, lifestyle, and budget, with opportunities to grow within a nationwide flooring retailer.

Qualifications

• Design education (BA or AA in Interior Design).
• 6 years interior design experience or combination equal to 6 years.
• Prior retail/sales experience preferred.
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus.
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office.
• Internal candidates must have 24 months of experience in a Floor & Decor Designer position.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain lasting relationships with residential and professional customers.
• Greet store customers and support design walk-in needs.
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through networking and referrals.
• Advise on tile, wood, stone and accessories for projects.
• Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions.
• Manage multiple projects with accuracy, timeliness and follow-up.
• Collaborate with store leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation.
• Support company initiatives and stay current on design trends.
• Understand and utilize design applications such as Salesforce and MyProject.
• Participate in local professional affiliations like ASID, NKBA.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
