Job summary

Floor & Decor Sr. Designer leads our design team, delivering consultative design from start to finish to build lasting customer relationships and brand loyalty. You meet clients, understand project needs, educate on requirements, and craft concepts that blend personal style, lifestyle, and budget.

Responsibilities include meeting with customers, arranging design appointments, advising on materials, and guiding projects through to installation while pursuing sales and design excellence.

Qualifications

• Design education BA/AA in Interior Design or 6 years interior design experience
• Combination of education and experience equals 6 years
• Prior retail/sales experience preferred
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills
• Self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office
• Internal candidates must have 24 months of Floor & Decor Designer experience

Responsibilities

• Proven ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with residential and professional customers
• Greet store customers and support design walk-in needs
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through networking and referrals
• Provide tile, wood, stone and accessories advice for residential and commercial projects
• Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions
• Manage multiple projects with accuracy, timeliness and follow-up
• Use company tools and emails consistently
• Collaborate with store leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation
• Support company initiatives by modeling best practices
• Engage in current and emerging design trends and use design apps like Salesforce, Online Design Scheduler, MyProject
• Participate in local professional affiliations like ASID, NKBA
