Job summary

Floor & Decor Sr. Designer leads our design team, delivering consultative design services that build lasting customer relationships and brand loyalty.

You’ll meet clients, assess their project needs, educate on requirements, and craft design concepts reflecting personal style and budget. Requirements include a BA/AA in Interior Design or 6 years of interior design experience, retail experience preferred, and strong math, communication, and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Design education (BA or AA) or 6 years interior design experience.
• Combination of education and experience equal to 6 years.
• Prior retail/sales experience preferred.
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus.
• Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite.
• Internal candidates must have 24 months of Floor & Decor Designer experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain lasting relationships with customers.
• Greet customers and support design walk-ins.
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through referrals.
• Advise on tile, wood, stone and accessories for projects.
• Design and sell complete, functional design solutions.
• Manage multiple projects with accuracy and timely follow-up.
• Use company tools and emails consistently.
• Collaborate with leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation.
• Support company initiatives and stay current with design trends.
• Understand and use design applications like Salesforce and MyProject.
