Job summary

Floor & Decor Sr. Designer leads our design team, delivering a seamless consultative service that builds lasting customer relationships and brand loyalty.

You will meet with customers, listen to project needs, educate on requirements, and craft a design concept that reflects their style, lifestyle and budget. The role requires a design degree or 6 years of interior design experience, retail experience preferred, and proficiency with office software.

Qualifications

• Design education (BA or AA in Interior Design) or 6 years interior design experience.
• Combination of education and experience equal to 6 years.
• Prior retail/sales experience preferred.
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus.
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills.
• M>ust be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite.
• Internal candidates must have 24 months of experience in a FloorDecor Designer position.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain lasting relationships with residential and professional customers.
• Greet customers and support store design walk-in needs.
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through referrals and leads.
• Provide tile, wood, stone and accessories advice to homeowners, designers, and builders.
• Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions.
• Manage multiple projects through all phases with accuracy and timelines.
• Use company communication tools and emails consistently.
• Collaborate with store leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation.
• Support company initiatives and stay current with design trends.
• Utilize design applications: Salesforce, Online Design Scheduler, MyProject.
