Job summary

Floor & Decor is seeking a Senior Designer to lead our design team and provide a seamless start-to-finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with customers.

You will meet with customers, understand project needs, educate on requirements, and develop a design concept that blends personal style, lifestyle, and budget to deliver beautiful, functional spaces.

Qualifications

• Design education BA or AA in Interior Design or equivalent experience
• 6 years interior design experience (in lieu of design education)
• Retail/sales experience preferred
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Internal candidates must have 24 months of Floor & Decor Designer experience

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain lasting relationships with residential and professional customers
• Greet store customers and support design walk-in needs
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele via referrals
• Advise on tile, wood, stone, and accessories for projects
• Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions
• Manage multiple projects with accuracy and timely follow-up
• Use company communications tools and emails consistently
• Collaborate with leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation
• Support company initiatives and stay current with design trends
• Utilize design applications like Salesforce, MyProject
